Criminal Justice Advisory Group (CJAC)
The Work Group is responsible for:
- Develop and implement coordinated, structured sentencing and release
processes for misdemeanants and offenders subject to Senate Bill 1145
(1995) that ensure a consistent, cost-effective use of the Countys
corrections resources;
- Review the plans proposed by other Working Groups that involve the
operations of the Courts and make recommendations about any interrelationships;
and
- Recommend coordinated efforts between the courts and other public
safety agencies in Multnomah County that will increase the effectiveness
of the Countys judicial system in advancing the public safety
objectives outlined in the Councils Visions, Goals and Values
Statement.
- Reform the Adult Pre-trial System.
- Streamline processes and find ways to increase the availability of jail beds to hold persons of greatest risk to community safety.
